THEMED BOOK BAGS FOR CHECK OUT!
There’s something new available for check out at the Republic Library.
Come in today and pick up a themed book bag. They’re designed for children ages 2 to 5 years old and they’re tons of fun. There’s no cost to take one home, just show your library card.
Each book bag contains books, poems, songs and activities that relate to a particular theme. Themes include: bears, science, weather, plants, farms, gardens, numbers and counting. There are ten different book bags to choose from.
The Early Literacy/Home Connection book bag program is a project of The Culture of Literacy which seeks to promote reading in the five counties of Northeast Washington: Stevens, Pend Oreille, Lincoln, Ferry and Spokane. Culture of Literacy’s goal is to connect families to reading activities and provide quality, developmentally appropriate books to children.
The project is made possible by Thrive by Five Washington in partnership with the Inland Northwest Early Learning Alliance. As a member of the Inland Northwest Early Learning Alliance, NorthEast Washington ESD 101 serves as the fiscal agent. Implementation of this project is being carried out in concert with coalition partners.
