BOOK-IT THEATRE PRESENTS: The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett
Monday, December 7th at 10:30am. Everyone is welcome to this free program.
When her parents die of cholera in Colonial India, spoiled Mary Lennox must go live with her uncle at Misselthwaite Manor in Yorkshire, England. Uncle Archibald Craven is a brooding, mysterious man who mostly leaves Mary to her own devices. Lonely and friendless, Mary chafes in her new situation until she discovers the key to an unkempt garden and, with the aid of a local boy named Dickon, learns how to make it grow. The newly-found key unlocks not only the garden, but Mary’s capacity to love and nurture.
Wednesday mornings from 10:00-10:30am.
"CREATIVE CRAFTS FOR THE SEASON"
On display starting November 20th and ending May 1st "Creative Crafts for the Season". Anyone willing to show off their handiwork is welcome to contact the Cashmere Library and put their items on display in our very own locking cabinet for a period of time (usually a month). Wishing everyone an Artistict, Imaginative, Creative Holiday Season!
FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY
The Cashmere Library is looking for a few good friends. If you would like to be a Friend of the Library call 782-3314 for information on the date and time of their next meeting.
Volunteers are always welcome. We always have shelving to do or books to straighten, our flower beds are usually in need of loving care and lots of weeding, and our summer reading program can use helping hands for little hands that have a hard time with crafts.
If you have a collection you would like to display at the library, the Friends of the Cashmere Library have a locked display case. Call the library for more information.
ONGOING BOOK SALE AT THE CASHMERE PUBLIC LIBRARY
The Cashmere Friends of the Library have a bookcase filled with gently used books for sale. Hardbacks sell for $1.00 and paperbacks for $.50.
Donations of new and gently used, clean, sellable books are gratefully accepted by the Friends of the Cashmere Library.
REMEMBER, THIS IS YOUR LIBRARY, CHECK IT OUT.
